International School of Art

Croeso!  That's 'Welcome!' in Welsh, as I'm in Wales!  So perhaps the title 'International School of Art' is a little grand for just one Art Teacher!  However  Fortis Fortuna Adiuvat ('fortune favours the brave' in latin) or, as coined in the 1960's, "Go big or go home!".  So yes, for now, it is run by highly experienced artist and qualified Art Teacher Honor Pedican.  Predominantly delivering enjoyable, enriching visual arts sessions, online, from her studio, at home, in North Wales, UK.

Want to fuel someone's passion for Art?
Perhaps you are looking for Art & Design or Crafts based experiences for a loved one, friend or client that already shows a big interest.  Although anyone is welcome to try out the sessions designed for their age group, with no previous experience necessary.

Honor manages a schedule of LIVE art lessons for children, young people and adults, Monday to Friday, between 09:00 - 21:00 UK GMT time (or *BST from last Sunday in March, to the last Sunday in October).
Be sure to find out what is on offer, who for and when, by visiting the Schedule and Services pages.

Mainstream Art, in a building, not possible?
As Learning & Engagement Officer, Honor was responsible for the Learning programme of a busy, town centre, contemporary gallery.  She designed and delivered a rolling programme, to complement year round exhibitions.  She delivered daytime sessions that included hands-on, creative workshops for all different children, young people and their families.  In this online work she enjoys welcoming all guests, whoever and wherever you are.

As a teacher, lecturer, gallery educator and Creative Practitioner, for the Arts Council, Honor has worked with people of all different ages,
backgrounds and abilities.  She has vast experience working with students with special educational needs and mental health issues.  Her students are people first and she knows society 'disables' people.  She makes a safe space to ensure creativity releases and heals and is keen to ensure all enjoy and benefit.

Perhaps the person loves Arts & Crafts and you want to help them boost their English language skills too?
All the scheduled sessions are useful for anyone looking for a fun, creative way for EFL students to engage.  Students will be exposed to native English speaking/listening/reading/writing in a natural way.  Honor qualified from the University of Wales, Bangor, as an Art Teacher, however, she also has a TESOL qualification from Trinity College London.**

*During Daylight Saving Time (DST) the correct time zone is British Summer Time (BST).
**The Schedule consists of primarily Art & Crafts sessions, rather than an English language lessons.  However Honor is happy to follow up / answer any questions / clarify any elements, after sessions, with regards to the English, as ne
eded.

The Studio

Honor delivers her online sessions from a studio in her garden.

Well until it gets really cold and starts to ice-up and snow (she is in North Wales, UK after all), when she heads indoors, to the warmth of the house.

If you join in and stay for a while, watch out for her rather lazy assistant!  ...Tirion the cat!

Tirion the cat

Assistant (VERY part-time)

Doesn't take his work too seriously.  Enjoys eating and staying in the garden, despite having the WHOLE world to roam!

Prefers to dream about what other places are like, then wakes up, ignores living things he could eat, stays put and looks forward to being served his next meal.

Ow and he is very good at accidental paw prints!
